Benjamin Rempel is a Canadian writer and essayist. Widely published, his work has appeared in The Toronto Star, Our Canada, Blank Spaces, Fifteen Stories High Anthology, and others.
Celebrated for his dark and gritty tone, his fiction has been nominated for several honours including the Pushcart Prize, the John Kenneth Galbraith Literary Award, and the Rising Spirits Writing Award. In 2025, he was awarded the Canadian Council for the Arts Literary Grant.
His first novel, INFECT, was released in 2024 through Chicken House Press. His second novel, MUTATE, is scheduled for release late 2025.
Although his writing tends to be creepy, his wife will tell you he has a soft spot for public libraries, farmer’s markets, and gets right giddy over marvel movies.
A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Rempel has worked for non-profits since 2004. He lives in Collingwood, Ontario, with his family.
